Words and Music by Craig Schoenbaum, ASCAP.

I woke up and I went outside because I saw it was a sunny day.
I didn't have a penny to my name, but still I went out anyway.
Caught a train that was goin' downtown as thoughts raced through my mind.
I almost missed my stop, as I was deep in thought, but I stepped out just in time.
I went to a place just a few blocks away where everybody knows my name

There stood the girl that could take my world and crush it up like it was just a tin can.
But what can you do? It was sad but true- she was busy with another man.
I've got to make a decision cause time is going by like a Mustang on a track
Do you spend your days looking for some new ways, or do you question and always look back?
so what's the pin cushion without the pin, the water always seems the coldest right before you jump in.

Please take me down, please take me now

Though I don't know exactly what to say, when she's around the words are all long gone. And if I lived in a perfect world, the words would fit the way they do in this song-
But I've got to tell her soon, cause I can't afford to keep staying up in bed all night.
And for all I know, I could be wrong, but why not take a chance on being right?

And since there has to be a lesson here, I guess it's 'Life would be too easy if we lived without fear..."
